Marco Van Ginkel, the playmaker from Netherlands, is not in any kind of mood to end his loan spell at Milan early and return to his parent club Chelsea.
His representative had hinted that the 21-year old was unhappy to have been made to sit on the sidelines at San Siro on a regular basis and he might make the call to terminate his contract in January, but, Ginkel denied that while being in conversation with an Italian website last evening.
When asked if he is not enjoying his time in Milan, Ginkel said, “That’s not the case. It’s a fantastic city and I have not faced too many problems settling in. I absolutely love the restaurants over here.”
Ginkel has also made it clear that there is no specific position where he is eager to play in. According to him, in whichever role his manager needs him, he is ready.
In the words of the Dutchman, “The derby is not too far away and I look forward to it. I would not mind playing deep or in an attacking position as long as I am making some kind of contribution for the side. The position is not something which matters for me that much.”
Ginkel had signed for Chelsea last year, but, got just two league games there and that was not surprising considering the experienced set of midfielders that Chelsea had.
Moving to Milan this summer, Ginkel would have hoped for a regular playing time, but, that hasn’t happened. He has featured just once in Serie A and that too was a substitute appearance only.
The Milan derby is going to take place on 23rd of November. Currently, Milan is one point and two position ahead of Internazionale in the table.
