Italian Serie A giants AC Milan are reportedly keen to boost their midfield options with a new player. Italian publication Calciomercato said the Rossoneri have been forced to look further down on their list of midfield targets after missing out on Portugal international Renato Sanches. AC Milan were seen as favourites to sign Sanches at some point, but the player has opted to sign for French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Renato Sanches was seen as the perfect midfielder for AC Milan, but things have not worked out as expected for club officials after the player subbed them to sign for PSG as confirmed this week.
After missing out on Sanches, there are now three players on the list of midfield targets at AC Milan. One of the three Milan midfield targets is Joel Onana who plays his club football for Bordeaux in the French Ligue 1. Chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has been on the trail of Onana for some months and Milan could finally step up their interest in the explosive midfielder. The Bordeaux star also has a strong turn of pace in addition to being physically strong.
Milan and Bordeaux have a very good relationship as seen with the YacineAdli transfer and a move for Onana is not expected to be complicated. The other two Milan midfield targets are Adrian Tameze of Hellas Verona in the Italian Serie A and FC Midtjylland star Raphael Onyedika.
