MILAN BEAT CELTIC

AC Milan managed to beat Celtic 2-0 in the opening Champions League group match at the San Siro. They are in one of the toughest groups this season, as the likes of Barcelona and Ajax form the other teams.

Hence, it was extremely imperative that Milan took the maximum points from the match against Celtic. After struggling in the opening 45 minutes, Milan managed to win the match 2-0. Despite this victory, they sit second in the table because of Barcelona's 4-0 win over Ajax. Even though they have started the campaign with a defeat, Celtic should not be ruled out as a threat according to manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon was extremely disappointed after the match because he saw his team conceded two goals in the last 10 minutes. He said that Celtic should have come out with at least a draw from a match. Given the performance they put in at the San Siro, nobody should ruled out of qualification yet according to Allegri. Celtic have had great results against top European teams in the past at Celtic Park. They even defeated Barcelona in the group stages a few years ago, and Allegri says that a repeat of that could happen because Celtic are good team.

"Celtic are a very good team. I believe they still have chances of qualifying out of the group, but everything is still open, so we will see. We had luck a couple of times in the game, but it was a positive performance and an important victory for us. My side improved in the second part of the game and they will improve further. There are some players who haven't played before, but this team has to be admired - they all defend together," said Allegri after the match against Celtic.
