GATTUSO: I NEVER SPOKE TO ZLATAN

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has declared that he is not upset that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be making a return to the San Siro after the Big Swede confirmed that he will be staying with LA Galaxy for the upcoming season.
The manager has claimed that he is not a bit disappointed that the club’s potential deal for the former Manchester United forward fell through.

Zlatan had been tipped to return back to AC Milan this January, a club where he announced himself to the football world at a very tender age, but he has squashed the rumors saying he would rather remain in the Major League Soccer.

But Gattuso has played down the news of his interest in the player, insisting he was not losing sleep over the Swede’s decision and that he never even really communicated with the forward personally.

Speaking in a news conference, the AC Milan manager said, “I never even spoke to Ibra. When there are important people at the club like our directors, I give them their due respect and let them do their jobs (handle the club’s transfers)”.
“I always knew there was a slight chance and I also knew from the first day that it would be a difficult deal to pull off. There is no disappointment at all from the outcome”, Gattuso added.

“AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain’s goals have dried up since scoring a goal on October 28“ as he has failed the find the back of the net in his last six “appearances for the club“.

Ibrahimovic was seen by the club as the solution to the woes in front of the net as the experienced striker has played for various top teams in Europe’s top leagues including Barcelona, Manchester United, Inter Milan and AC Milan but the club will be left disappointed following his latest announcement.
